Roadworthy Certificate – Prahran
If you’re looking for a reliable vehicle tester for a roadworthy certificate (RWC) in Prahran, then contact the team at JJ Service Centre. We are a VicRoads licensed vehicle tester and fully equipped to carry out reliable roadworthy inspections on all car makes and models.
An RWC is required by law before you can buy, sell or re-register a used vehicle. It may also be required to clear a police defect. An RWC means that your vehicle has met the minimum safety standard to legally drive on Victorian roads.
The Roadworthy Inspection
A roadworthy inspection covers all components and accessories necessary to safely operate a vehicle on the road. The inspection includes:
- Seats and belts
- Reflectors and lamps
- Tyres and wheels
- Suspension, steering and braking systems
- Windows and windscreen
- Windscreen wiper blades and washer system
- The integral structure of your vehicle
- And other safety parts related to your engine or car body
The inspection doesn’t include non-essential vehicle components, like air conditioning. It also doesn’t take into account the vehicle’s cosmetic condition or mechanical reliability.
What if Your Vehicle Fails?
If your vehicle passes the inspection you will be issued an RWC on the spot. If it fails, we will provide a rejection report that outlines the vehicle’s defects. You will then have seven days to get the defects fixed and present the car for re-inspection.
At JJ Service Centre, we offer a full range of car service and repairs in Prahran. If we discover defects on your vehicle, our expert mechanics can quickly fix them, re-inspect your car and issue your RWC on the spot.
